Our Story
We started Gentle Giant Outfitters because of two dogs.
For over fourteen years, our family had a Newfoundland — the kind of dog that changes how you think about "big." When we lost her, we figured we were done sharing our hearts and half the couch with an animal that size. Then a Great Dane found us, and here we are again: buying furniture based on what she can't destroy, and still searching for a shirt that actually captured what that's like.
But we never really found one. Most dog apparel is made for any dog — a paw print, a bone, a cute script font. Nothing spoke to what it's actually like living with 100+ pounds of drool, love, and destruction. So in 2026, after almost two decades of being owned by a gentle giant, we started making the shirts ourselves.
Gentle Giant Outfitters is a family-run apparel brand for people who love giant dog breeds — Newfoundlands, Great Danes, Mastiffs, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Saint Bernards, Great Pyrenees, Cane Corsos, Irish Wolfhounds, and every other breed that makes strangers ask "is that a horse?" Every design is built around the real breed, not a generic dog silhouette, because if you're going to wear a shirt about your dog, it should actually look like your dog.
Our tees are printed here in the US — in Florida and Texas — on soft, durable, ring-spun cotton built for real life with a giant dog: comfortable enough for the couch, sturdy enough to survive shedding season. For customers outside the US, we work with printing partners around the world so your order doesn't have to travel as far to reach you.
